Mrs Kelly is the P6 and P7 teacher. At the minute, however, Mrs Kelly is on maternity leave so Miss Boyd is the class teacher.

Our room is very busy but very happy too. We believe in rewarding good behaviour using positive reinforcements and rewards.

A typical day consists of: spelling and mental maths activities, Literacy (including guided reading) and Numeracy. In the afternoon the P5 class join us and together we take part in R.E., Art or World Around Us activities.

Our current World Around Us topic is Planet Tea! So far we’ve learnt all about where tea grows, the tea production process and the history of tea. Did you know that the first cup of tea was made in China in 2737 BC? At the minute we are busy designing our own tea products and writing our very own television advertisements- check back soon to see the results!

We also take part in a number of sporting activities including Hockey, Netball, Football and Swimming which we thoroughly enjoy.

We are also focusing on trying to improve our handwriting and P7 are even working towards gaining their pen licences. Each week there is a prize for the best handwriting and a prize for the most improvement. Miss Boyd is very impressed with our progress so far!
